![]() About 50 years ago, a small number of people migrated to Indore and formed a community titled “Mar Thoma Parish, Indore”. In the year 1978 the members initiated a social project at Kshipra, Dewas with an intention of educating, equipping and emancipating the poor masses of the neighboring villages. The project was later handed over to the Christian Agency for Rural Development, a auxiliary of the Mar Thoma Church. With a vision that no child should be denied the right to education and being aware that the middle class and economically backward are denied quality education, a society was formed and registered in the name and style of St. Thomas Educational and Welfare Society under Madhya Pradesh Society Registration Act 1973 in 1987 (registration No.18199) with the following members as the founder members:-
At present, we are running two premiere educational institutions in the city of Indore – Mar Thoma Higher Secondary School (CBSE) and Mar Thoma Public School (M.P. Board). Mar Thoma Public School has been granted minority status from National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions.
